Stop to visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a famous fortified village that has served as a location for many Hollywood movies, and then on to the movie city of Ouarzazate, popularly known as "the Gateway to the Desert."
In the late afternoon, travel through the breathtaking Dades Valley and Todra Gorges, renowned for their towering rock walls, thick palm oases, and traditional Berber villages. Overnight stay in a comfortable guesthouse in the midst of nature.
On the second day, continue toward Merzouga, where the mighty dunes of Erg Chebbi rise dramatically from the desert floor. 3-DAY Tour Itinerary:Marrakech To Merzouga
Day 1: Marrakech ➝ Aït Benhaddou ➝ Ouarzazate ➝ Dades Valley
• Early departure from Marrakech and a drive through the High Atlas Mountains using the scenic Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260m).
• Panorama stops for photos and coffee breaks at viewpoints.
• Visit the UNESCO World Heritage village of Aït Benhaddou, an ancient ksar and favourite film location.
• Continue to Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Africa," with an optional stopover visit to Atlas Film Studios or Kasbah Taourirt.
• Drive through Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses.
• Dinner and overnight in Dades Valley in a local guesthouse or hotel.
Day 2: Dades Valley ➝ Todra Gorges ➝ Merzouga ➝ Erg Chebbi (Camel Trek & Desert Camp)
• After breakfast, drive through the stunning Dades Gorges, and then visit the high cliffs of the Todra Gorges, ideal for a short walk or excursion.
• Drive on to the Sahara through Tinjdad, Erfoud, and the town of Rissani.
• Arrive at Merzouga and have camels ready for a sunset camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
• Arrive at the desert camp, sample traditional mint tea, and settle down for dinner.
• Live Berber music around the campfire and sleeping under the stars or in an en-suite tent.
Day 3: Merzouga ➝ Alnif ➝ Ouarzazate ➝ Marrakech
• Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes (optional but highly recommended).
• Camel back to Merzouga, breakfast, and shower.
• Begin the return journey to Marrakech, on a separate road via Alnif and Nkob, via Draa Valley and Agdz, a lush palm-filled landscape.
