The adventure culminates in the vast Sahara Desert at Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels across rolling sand dunes and witness a magical sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight in a traditional desert camp under a starry sky, immersed in Berber culture, music, and hospitality. On the return to Marrakech, enjoy the varied view, from plains desert to mountain passes, as this tour offers an unforgettable combination of natural beauty, history, and cultural encounter.
4-DAY Tour Itinerary: marrakech to merzouga
Day 1: Marrakech ➝ Ait Ben Haddou ➝ Ouarzazate ➝Dades Valley
• Leave Marrakech in the morning and drive across the High Atlas Mountains and the scenic Tizi n'Tichka Pass.
• Stop at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a famous movie set location because of its architecture.
• Continue to Ouarzazate, also named the "Hollywood of Africa," for a short visit.
• Drive through the Skoura oasis and the Valley of Roses.
• Night in a traditional guesthouse at Dades Valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley ➝ Todra Gorge ➝ Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)
• Breakfast, then off to the impressive Todra Gorge, with its steep cliffs.
• Travel through Berber villages and the desert landscapes of Tinjdad and Erfoud.
• Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon.
• Camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes.
• Witness a mystical sunset in the desert and spend the night in a standard or luxury desert camp, with Berber music under the stars.
Day 3:Day 3: Merzouga ➝ Rissani ➝ Alnif ➝ Agdz ➝ Ouarzazate
• Wake up early and witness the sunrise over the dunes.
• Return by camels to Merzouga and take breakfast.
• Visit Rissani, an ancient trading town with traditional souk.
• Cross the Alnif and volcanic plateaus and navigate the Draa Valley with its large palm groves.
• Overnight and dinner in Ouarzazate.
Day 4: Ouarzazate ➝ Atlas Mountains ➝ Marrakech
• After breakfast, visit Taourirt Kasbah or one of Ouarzazate's film studios.
• Drive back via the High Atlas Mountains.
• Panoramic stops along the way before arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
