Location

Ourika Valley lies within the High Atlas Mountains, around 30 km south-east of Marrakech. It's one of the most popular day-trip locations from the city, and one that offers a welcome respite into the great outdoors

The valley is famous for its lush green landscape, winding river, and traditional Berber villages. Travelers can enjoy the fresh mountain air, small waterfalls, and picturesque walking paths. It is also known for saffron fields and perfumed gardens

Getting There

It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour by car, taxi, or minibus from Marrakech. Several tourists prefer booking guided day tours for a hassle-free trip to the valley

Nature & Wildlife

The Ourika River flows through the valley, watering orchards and terraced fields. Walnut, cherry, and almond trees are planted here, and traditional Berber families and a variety of birdlife live here.

Ouzzoud Overview

Location

The Ouzoud Waterfalls are located near the village of Tanaghmeilt, in the Azilal Province of central Morocco, approximately 150 km northeast of Marrakech.

Key Features

The 110-meter Ouzoud Waterfalls, the highest in North Africa, are fed by the El-Abid River. They were so called because they are named after a Berber term meaning "olive," which refers to the profusion of olive trees around the falls.

Getting There

From Marrakech, it's a 2.5 to 3-hour drive by car or bus.Many tourists book day trips or guided tours from Marrakech.
